The U11 Comets (picture left) continue the Comets tradition by capturing the Columbia-Windham Tournament Title. The team went 4-1-0 with a 14-6 goal differential, including a 5-1 win in the finals against Vernon - a team that beat the young Comets earlier!
The team started with a clean 2-0-0 (2-0 against Southeast and 2-1 against Tolland) record on day 1, only to suffer a frustrating 0-1 loss to Vernon on day 2. After a dramatic tie-breaker decision, the Comets showed complete dominance by defeating Plainfield 5-3 in the semi-final match to face Vernon in the finals.
Knowing the title was on the line, the Comets started with a bang - 2-0 in the first 5 minutes helped them dominate the opposing team with a final score of 5-1.
Earlier in the fall (at the FSB Tournament), the U12 Comets advanced to the finals with the U13 Comets advancing to the semi finals.
GO COMETS!!!
